Are you able to create role with different permissions ? i tried to reproduce your issue in my lab, but i am not facing any issue. i can able to create role successfully.

App Volumes Writable Volumes 2.14 - Windows 10 1803
Hi,
Forgive me for these simple questions, but I could not find much in the documentation.
Can we allow Standard Users to install applications on a Windows 10 1803 Instant Clone with the App Volumes Writable Volume (App Only, not profile) attached?
If so where are the applications installed to? Where is the writable location?
I cannot see the symlink which is allegedly created for an App Volume using junction64 sysinternal tool. Is there anyway to see this?
Does the user need to know to install the application to a particular folder when performing the installation or will the installer manage this?
To summarise, how are users meant to install applications on the Writable volumes. How is this achieved?

Hi. First of all, i should warn you about my poor English...
I try to create a shared folders between my host (Windows 10 x64), and my VM (Windows 7 x86) with VMWare Workstation pro 14.
But the folders was invisible…
I have this fault firstly :
Cannot connect the virtual device sata0:1 because no corresponding device is available on the host.
So i remove the CD in hardware setting. Still not working.
I try this solution found in this forum, but still the same problem :

Modify to:

Just to make sure, these VMs are running a Windows guest OS?
And if yes, you only want to show this users that are logged on?
- run a PowerShell script through Invoke-VMScript.
- display a Windows form with 2 buttons, Cancel and Reboot Now.
- on the form add a timer, and display the timer value countdown in a text box.
- depending on the results (Cancel, Reboot Now or timer expires) return a value
- catch the returned value in the script that ran the Invoke-VMScript, and take appropriate action

How to recover my VMs when data-components is presents

As I asked in https://communities.vmware.com/thread/592645,
I have two SuperMicro servers and install `ESXI 6.0.0` on both of them and create vSAN with them and installs all VMs on `vsanStorage`. and each of them have two SSD storage with RAID 1 and two HDD with RAID 1. after power failure in my data center, all VM's in one server is orphaned and all VM's in another server is inaccessible.
After much work on this issue and get lot of help from TheBobkin , I run
# cmmds-tool find -f python | grep CONFIG_STATUS -B 4 -A 6 | grep 'uuid\|content' | grep -o 'state\\\":\ [0-9]*' | sort | uniq -c
command and see below results
172.16.0.11:
44 state\": 28
13 state\": 7
172.16.0.12:
44 state\": 28
13 state\": 7
As you can see many of my VM virtual hard disk health has two parts and all of them healthy like below
At now I have a question, how to recover these hard disks? and recover my data? at least for 13 objects have state 13
My data is very important for me.

vSAN Configure - Not allowing me to complete vsan configuration
Hi all,
So After following the instructions, I created a 3 host, 2 +1 witness vsan cluster.
I start the configuration process after deploying the witness.
In configure vsan, everything runs smoothly and is succesfully validated
The cache and capacity is set for the two ESXi host, and then I claim disks for the witness
Everything is fine until I get an error and I can't finish.
Has anyone experienced this problem?

Hi,
Generally speaking, if your plugin is required to work on a 6.0 - 6.5GA (any version before 6.5U1) - it is required to have a web-platform.js file in order to access the JS APIs. We have fixed the described issue (SCRIPT5011: Can't execute code from a freed script) in the latest web-platform.js available in 6.5U1 SDK. In 6.5U1 SDK we have introduced a new bootstrapping of the JS APIs and the web-platform.js file is no longer required for further versions. We have provided an example plugins compatible with both 6.5U1 and previous versions. You can find the samples in 6.5U1 SDK.
Seeing that the issue is fixed in a later build, is your plugin required to work with the specific not-working build (4514981)?
